Sefton Council will be hosting an important event for suppliers and potential suppliers, New Ways of Doing Business with Sefton Council

 The Council spends £millions per annum with businesses of all sizes, including sole traders, and small firms.  Sefton Council has a commitment to achieving value for money, and actively encourages competition, welcoming proposals from new and existing suppliers.  Businesses will learn about a new system of Risk-Based Sourcing for Requests for Quotes (RFQ), relating to goods and services from £1,001-£172,514, and works up to £4,332,012.  The new system has been designed to make it easier to do business with the Council.  Businesses will also learn about support available through InvestSefton to aid business growth, including business planning, recruitment and tendering support.

Selling to the Public Sector – Business Workshops

Immediately following the ‘Doing Business’ event, there will workshops for experienced bidders and businesses new to public sector supply on topics including:

  • Identifying opportunities with Councils, NHS, Universities, and government agencies
  • Costing and Pricing Tenders
  • The Bid-No Bid Decision Tree
  • Developing a Tender Readiness Toolkit Places are limited, and businesses are advised to register at an early stage.

A choice of two dates are available, either  24th September in Bootle, and 25th in Southport.  Please note these two events are identical therefore you have a choice whether to attend  either in Southport or Bootle .

 Please note that this event has been organised by the Merseyside Business Support Programme, funded through European Regional Development Fund, and participation in the event will be counted as direct support to your business and will need to be included in any De Minimis Declaration under State Aid rules.

Priority for places on this event is given to small to medium sized private sector businesses (SME’s) based in the Sefton Council area that have been trading 1day+
