Southport Plastic Free
Great opportunity for Southport businesses to go plastic free and become a Plastic Free Business Champion. Sunnyside Guesthouse in Southport have set up Business Champion Award backed by Surfers Against Sewage.
Anthony Duffey, Sunnyside Guesthouse added ‘We have worked tirelessly over recent years to make our business as green as possible, this initiative in partnership with Surfers Against Sewage, to reduce single use plastic is a great way for businesses to make their first step towards reducing their carbon footprint’.
Businesses can achieve their Plastic Free Champion Award by eliminating a minimum of three single-use plastic items from its operations, these can include plastic bags, plastic cups and plastic drink bottles. For businesses that are already plastic free, you can apply retrospectively, by letting Plastic Free know the choices that you have already made to reduce single use plastic in your business.
The goal of becoming a Plastic Free Business Champion is not to be completely free of plastic but instead, address the crisis of single-use plastics, specifically focusing on avoidable plastics that are prevalent in many areas.
The Plastic Free Business Champion Award is open to businesses across various sectors, including retail, hospitality, hair and beauty, holiday accommodation, leisure and office-based businesses.
