23/3/20- Job retention scheme announced

The Chancellor has announced a job retention scheme to support UK businesses to continue to pay the salaries of employees who would otherwise have been laid off due to the coronavirus outbreak. To access the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, employers will need to designate affected employees as ‘furloughed workers’ and submit information to HMRC, which will reimburse 80% of furloughed workers’ wage costs up to a maximum of £2,500 per month.
