Are you registered with the assured trader scheme?

The number of businesses who are part of an assured trader initiative in Sefton is growing. Sefton Council’s Trading Standards Service is continuing to develop the Buy With Confidence scheme.

Buy With Confidence is part of an assured trader initiative in Sefton whereby local traders are vetted and approved and placed on an internet based list of reputable businesses who operate in a legal, honest and fair way. The project was initially aimed at home improvement businesses, thus includes plumbers, builders, roofers, electricians, tillers, joiners and plasterers and domestic alarm companies. Most recently, a tattooist and a garage have joined the scheme, and we have now decided to open the scheme up to any type of business, and any type of trader, be it a sole trader, partnership, or limited company.

The Buy With Confidence scheme is nationally recognised with the aim being to help businesses comply with the law while improving consumer protection through a partnership approach. Businesses signing up to the scheme are known as members, and will subscribe to a code of conduct and their contact details will be available on the Buy with Confidence website with a printed list of traders available on request.
